yellow warning - snow squall - in effect Persistent snow squalls are occurring. Under the snow squall bands, visibility will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate. Locations: Corner Brook and vicinity, Deer Lake - Humber Valley. Total snowfall: Locally 5 to 10 cm except up to 30 cm in snow squalls. Time span: today, tonight, and Wednesday morning. Remarks: An intense snow squall has moved over the Corner Brook and Humber Valley areas. This band will remain nearly stationary over these areas for most of today before drifting northward late this afternoon. However, a second band to the south is expected settle over the same areas this evening and persist through the night. Gusty winds accompanying the snow squalls will cause visibility to occasionally drop to near zero in snow and blowing snow. ### Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Snow squall warnings are issued when localized, intense snowfall causing rapid accumulation and/or visibility near zero is expected.
