Choctawhatchee River near Bruce (SR 20) affecting Washington and Walton Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Choctawhatchee River near Bruce (SR 20). * WHEN...Until Friday evening. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Big Cedar, Cowford, and Choctawhatchee River Roads begin to flood in Walton County. Flood waters impact storage areas underneath homes on the west banks of the Choctawhatchee River. Low areas along Strickland Road in Washington County become subject to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 14.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:45 PM CDT Tuesday was 14.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.3 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage Friday morning. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.3 feet on 02/12/2020. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
