Northern Linn County in east central Kansas... Southeastern Miami County in east central Kansas... Western Pettis County in central Missouri... Northern Bates County in west central Missouri... Cass County in west central Missouri... Northern Henry County in west central Missouri... Southern Johnson County in west central Missouri... * Until 915 AM CDT Sunday. * At 209 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Sedalia, Warrensburg, Harrisonville, Peculiar, Louisburg, Windsor, Knob Noster, Holden, Adrian, Garden City, La Cygne, Whiteman Air Force Base, Archie, La Monte, Drexel, Linn Valley, Cleveland, Leeton, Urich and Freeman. Big Creek at Blairstown affecting Johnson, Cass and Henry Counties. Marais Des Cygnes River near Trading Post affecting Bates and Linn Counties. For the Big Creek...including Blairstown...Moderate flooding is forecast. For the Marais Des Cygnes River...including Trading Post...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Big Creek at Blairstown. * WHEN...Until late Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, The west bank of the creek begins to flood. At 23.0 feet, Flooding occurs at the west approach to the N Highway bridge located 0.2 miles west of Blairstown. Flooding also occurs across B Highway near Big Creek which is several miles northwest of Blairstown. At 26.0 feet, Many farm levees along Big Creek are overtopped. Flooding of rural areas behind the levees occurs. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 16.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early this morning to a crest of 25.3 feet just after midnight tonight.
