special weather statement in effect Significant snowfall is expected this week. Snow over southwestern Alberta will taper off later this morning. Heavy snow is expected to begin this evening along the foothills then spread to the east and continue through Wednesday. Total amounts of 10 to 25 cm are possible by Thursday morning. The highest amounts will fall west of Highway 2. The snow will be heavy and wet, and will be mixed with rain in some areas, so total snowfall accumulations will vary widely. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
