snowfall warning in effect A second round of heavy snow is expected to begin overnight tonight and continue through Wednesday. This long duration snowfall event could produce total snowfall amounts as high as 30 to 50 cm, especially over areas with higher terrain. In Calgary specifically, western areas as well as higher elevations such as Nose Hill, are most likely to see 10 to 15 cm while other areas of the city will see much less. Snow will become lighter through Wednesday night then finally taper off to flurries Thursday evening. ### Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ABStorm. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.
