A brief spell of strong north to northwesterly winds will move east across Eastern England this morning, particularly affecting North and East Norfolk and East Suffolk, with gusts of 35-45 mph inland and around 50 mph near the coast. With trees in full leaf, these gusts may be strong enough to bring down a few branches or trees. What should I do? Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary. Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area. For further details see https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings What to expect: Some delays to road, rail and ferry transport are possible; Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer; Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes possible.
