Heat Advisory issued June 24 at 5:49AM PDT until June 25 at 11:00AM PDT by NWS Hanford CA * WHAT...High temperatures of 102 to 106 degrees. Moderate to high heat risk is expected which will impact much of the population and those sensitive to the heat. * WHERE...A portion of central California. * WHEN...Until 11 AM PDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Little relief is expected from the heat during the overnight hours this weekend into Tuesday morning, and the heat risk will remain moderate to high during these hours. Minimum temperatures in Fresno and Bakersfield will remain in the mid to upper 70's. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
