In southern Florida, Glades and Hendry. In southwest Florida, Coastal Collier County, Inland Collier County and Mainland Monroe. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall amounts of 2 to 9 inches with isolated amounts up to 11 inches have fallen over South Florida since Tuesday morning. Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are still forecast to fall over South Florida through Friday evening. Special Weather Statement issued June 12 at 2:31PM EDT by NWS Miami FL At 231 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking a strong thunderstorm over Nova Southeastern University, or near Davie, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Hialeah, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, Coral Springs, Pompano Beach, Davie, Plantation, Sunrise, Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Tamarac, Margate, Lighthouse Point, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Miami Gardens, Hallandale, Lauderhill, and Weston. These winds can down small tree limbs and branches, and blow around unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a safe building until the storm passes. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Flood Advisory issued June 12 at 3:09PM EDT until June 12 at 8:30PM EDT by NWS Miami FL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Florida, including the following counties, Broward and Miami-Dade. * WHEN...Until 830 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 309 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Miami, Hialeah, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, Davie, Miami Beach, Plantation, Sunrise, Tamarac, Miami Gardens, Hallandale, Virginia Key, Lauderhill, Weston, North Miami, Doral, North Miami Beach and Oakland Park. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
