Flood Watch issued April 28 at 11:55AM CDT until April 28 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Additional hit-or-miss thunderstorms remain possible today. While widespread additional heavy rainfall is unlikely, any additional rain will only aggravate ongoing flooding concerns over southeast Kansas. * WHERE...A portion of Southeast Kansas, including the following counties, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.

Neosho River near Parsons affecting Neosho and Labette Counties. Neosho River near Chanute affecting Allen and Neosho Counties. ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansas... Neosho River at Iola affecting Allen County. Neosho River near Erie affecting Neosho County. Neosho River at Oswego affecting Cherokee and Labette Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River at Oswego. * WHEN...Until early Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Xavier Road leading north from the river gage bridge floods in that immediate vicinity. Also 13000 Road along the north side of the river bank floods. West of the town of Faulkner, homes along 120th Street between Star Road and Clem Road begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 11.9 feet and rising. - Bankfull stage is 17.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning to a crest of 22.1 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late Wednesday morning. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades.
