Heat Advisory issued June 19 at 4:04AM EDT until June 21 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV * WHAT...Heat index values up to 100. * WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, and central, northern, southern, and western West Virginia. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat stress increases with the number of consecutive hot days. While heat indices may be slightly lower today, values will rise on Thursday and again on Friday. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
