Flash Flood Warning issued April 29 at 2:46AM CDT until April 29 at 3:00AM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA At 246 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen since Sunday evening. The heavier rains are ending across the warned area, although periods of light rain with a few embedded thunderstorms will continue for the next couple of hours. As long as rain rates do not increase, then the Flash Flood Warning will be allowed to expire at 3 AM. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mansfield, Arcadia, Coushatta, Logansport, Ringgold, Sibley, Gibsland, Doyline, Dubberly, Heflin, Martin, South Mansfield, Hall Summit, Saline, Lucky, Castor, Edgefield, Bienville, Jamestown and Bryceland. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
