Tornado Watch issued May 21 at 1:14PM CDT until May 21 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 277 IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN IOWA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 8 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL IOWA FLOYD MITCHELL IN NORTHEAST IOWA ALLAMAKEE CHICKASAW CLAYTON FAYETTE HOWARD WINNESHIEK IN MINNESOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 7 COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA DODGE FILLMORE HOUSTON MOWER OLMSTED WABASHA WINONA IN WISCONSIN THIS WATCH INCLUDES 2 COUNTIES IN WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN BUFFALO TREMPEALEAU THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALMA, ARCADIA, AUSTIN, CALEDONIA, CHARLES CITY, CRESCO, DECORAH, DODGE CENTER, ELKADER, NEW HAMPTON, OELWEIN, OSAGE, PRESTON, ROCHESTER, WABASHA, WAUKON, WHITEHALL, AND WINONA.

Flood Watch issued May 21 at 1:35PM CDT until May 21 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI The first round of precipitation is over and brought widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches, heaviest near Austin to Byron Minnesota and across all of northeast Iowa. There have been reports of ponding of water and small creeks exceeding their banks. Additional rainfall amounts this evening are expected to be around an inch. Storms are expected to be fast moving, which will limit the flash flood threat, but ponding of water in poor drainage areas is expected. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Iowa, including the following counties, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek and southeast Minnesota, including the following counties, Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha and Winona. * WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A round of precipitation this morning brought widespread 1 to 3 inches of rain.
