In west central Wisconsin, Buffalo, Jackson, Juneau, La Crosse, Monroe, Trempealeau and Vernon Counties. * WHEN...From 7 PM CDT this evening through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional heavy rain due to thunderstorms is possible this evening into tonight. One to three inches of rain with locally higher amounts is possible. Mississippi River at Wabasha affecting Buffalo and Wabasha Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Winona. * WHEN...From this morning until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Lock and Dam 5A goes out of operation. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:45 AM CDT Monday the stage was 13.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 13.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:45 AM CDT Monday was 13.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to 15.5 feet Sunday evening. Additional rises are possible thereafter. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.2 feet on 04/15/1922. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
