Flood Watch issued May 26 at 3:26AM CDT until May 27 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS St Louis MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Bond IL, Calhoun IL, Clinton IL, Fayette IL, Greene IL, Jersey IL, Macoupin IL, Madison IL, Marion IL, Monroe IL, Montgomery IL, Pike IL, Randolph IL, Saint Clair IL and Washington IL and Missouri, including the following areas, Audrain MO, Boone MO, Callaway MO, Cole MO, Crawford MO, Franklin MO, Gasconade MO, Iron MO, Jefferson MO, Lincoln MO, Madison MO, Moniteau MO, Monroe MO, Montgomery MO, Osage MO, Pike MO, Ralls MO, Reynolds MO, Saint Charles MO, Saint Francois MO, Saint Louis City MO, Saint Louis MO, Sainte Genevieve MO, Warren MO and Washington MO. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Several rounds of thunderstorms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall, with between 2 and 5 inches possible. This threat will be heightened for some locations due to the heavy rainfall that fell Friday afternoon and evening. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Mississippi River at Saverton. Mississippi River at Winfield. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Illinois...Missouri... Illinois River at Hardin. Mississippi River at Clarksville. Mississippi River at Hannibal. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Winfield. * WHEN...From Tuesday evening until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 27.8 feet, Near this height, Wilson Road just north of Washeon Road and Lehmond Island Road south of Sunset Drive in northern St. Charles County begin flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 25.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Tuesday evening and continue rising to 27.9 feet Friday morning. Additional rises are possible thereafter. - Flood stage is 26.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor this developing situation and issue follow up statements as conditions change.
