Winter Weather Advisory issued May 7 at 8:02PM MDT until May 9 at 12:00AM MDT by NWS Great Falls MT * WHAT...Wet snow expected. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches on foothills, between 6 and 12 inches on mountain passes. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph. * WHERE...Elkhorn and Boulder Mountains and Upper Blackfoot and MacDonald Pass. * WHEN...Until midnight MDT Wednesday Night. * IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult and tire chains may be required for some vehicles. Those in the backcountry should ensure they have appropriate knowledge and gear and may want to consider alternate plans. Periods of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The combination of wet snow and strong winds could cause damage to trees and power lines. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
