High Wind Warning issued May 6 at 1:56PM MDT until May 7 at 6:00PM MDT by NWS Great Falls MT * WHAT...West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph. * WHERE...The Rocky Mountain Front and adjacent foothills and plains, and Eastern Glacier, Western Toole, and Central Pondera Counties. * WHEN...Until 6 PM MDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind.

Winter Storm Warning issued May 6 at 2:07PM MDT until May 9 at 12:00AM MDT by NWS Great Falls MT * WHAT...Heavy wet snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 6 in valleys and on foothills, with 6 to 12 inches over Marias Pass and on the Hudson Bay Divide. Up to 20 inches possible on some mountain peaks. Winds could gust as high as 60 mph. * WHERE...East Glacier Park Region Zone. * WHEN...From noon Tuesday to midnight MDT Wednesday Night. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Those in the backcountry should ensure they have appropriate knowledge and gear and may want to consider alternate plans. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The combination of heavy, wet snow and strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
