Stronger storms will be capable of producing rain at rates over 1 inch per half hour. Storm movement will also be slow and erratic, increasing the risk of flash flooding. * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of central and west central New Mexico, including the following areas, in central New Mexico, South Central Mountains. In west central New Mexico, Southwest Mountains. * WHEN...From noon MDT today through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and evening, and storm motion will be slow and erratic. Stronger storms will produce torrential rainfall at rates over one inch per half hour.
